Contract Counselors with ABCS are given opportunities which:

  • Provides individual, couple and family counseling for children' adolescents and adults utilizing effective counseling skills and techniques that are consistent with the Christian faith and are designed to meet the client's counseling goals
  • Provides thorough assessment and diagnosis, counseling planning and case management services on an ongoing basis
  • Maintains accounting/billing records, writes session notes and counseling plan reviews, and submits reports as appropriately requested
  • Provides written discharge and aftercare recommendations
  • Collaborates with professionals (e.g. teachers, pastors, physicians) for client's benefit with signed Release of Information
  • Makes appropriate and timely referrals to community resources and/or healthcare professionals when needed
  • Participates in peer staffing and in-service trainings as scheduled
  • Maintains confidentiality of clients record
  • Adheres to professional ethics as described by the American Association of Christian Counselors (http://www.aacc.net/about-us/code-of-ethics/)
  • Pursues continuing education to include reading professional literature, attending courses and seminars, and establishing and maintaining contact with other social service professionals
  • Notifies Statewide Counseling Director immediately if any situation exists that might prove harmful to any member of a family being served, the counselor or the ministry of Arizona Baptist Children's Services
  • Completes other duties as requested

Qualifications

  • You are a Christian and in agreement with the ABCS Mission Statement, Statement of Faith, Core Values and Guiding Principles.
  • Master’s Degree in Counseling or equivalent from a seminary, accredited college or university. Recommended having an Arizona Board of Behavioral Health license.
  • Ability to demonstrate efficient administrative skills with documentation and calendar management.
  • Have the ability to communicate well with clients, supervisor, and colleagues
  • Ability to relate to youth and adults, ability to work independently and as a part of a counseling team.
  • Must demonstrate a strong personal faith in Jesus Christ, an understanding that the Bible is the ultimate source of truth, and agreement with the Statement of Faith for Arizona Baptist Children's Services.
  • Continued employment is dependent upon satisfactory supervisory evaluations.
  • Must have a current TB skin test, be fingerprinted as required by the Arizona Department of Economic Security, and be cleared by a criminal background check prior to Employment.

Salary

Contract Counselors with ABCS will be paid 80% of each session completed
